YouTube Cracks Down on AI Slop

Following YouTube's 2026 priority to reduce AI slop...

YouTube have taken down several AI slop channels.

Whether this is YouTube trying to save itself from the recent backlash of AI-gen or if YouTube wants people to use its own AI more than a third-party AI... or a little of both... we'll just have to see.

But it is nice to see YouTube doing what they say they'll do.

According to Kapwing, one of the most subscribed AI slop channel (CuentosFacinantes), and the second most subscribed (Imperio de Jesus) are no longer available on YouTube. Both of these channels combined had over 5.8 million subscribers, and now they're gone.

Kapwing also note that 16 other AI slop channels on their list no longer have videos on YouTube.

To content creators using AI-gen that's lacking in effort, quality, or meaning, and posting it at a high volume... it might be time for you to actually use your own mind and creativity instead of relying on AI.

Trending page for long-form is no more... but it's lives on in Shorts.

The Trends page in Shorts is now available globally for everyone who goes through the Shorts feed.

Not sure where it is? It is the chips at the top of the Shorts video page.

By clicking on the Trends, you'll be taken to the Trends page where you'll see trending music and inspirations for you.

For creators, you can check the Trends tab to find trending music and save it (via the bookmark icon), so you can create your own Shorts with the music.

This is great for those who create Shorts through the YouTube app, but is it a good feature for viewers?

The reason why YouTube removed Trends for long-form is because viewers were finding videos through the page less and less throughout the year.

It'll probably be the same with Trends for Shorts.

In the upcoming months, YouTube will be making changes to the number of concurrent live streams.

YouTube will be reducing the number of maximum concurrent live streams allowed. However, they have yet to say what the limit will be.

If you're not sure what this means, it's the ability to stream multiple live streams at once. For example, cartoon channels that are streaming two or more replays of popular cartoon shows at the same time.

We presume this is to prevent spam as it can take a heavy load on YouTube's system.

This limit is on either your stream key or channel.

The latest Studio app no longer accept any OS lower than Android 10 or iOS 16.

If you're using the YouTube Studio app on an older phone, you will no longer the latest update.

Is it the limit of older mobile OS or just a way for YouTube (and many other companies) to force you to upgrade?

Either way, just know that if you're not getting the new updates for YouTube Studio, it might be because you're not on Android 11+ or iOS 17+.
