Here's what YouTube's got coming in 2026! ๐Ÿ‘‡

Starting February, YouTube will be reducing the number of max concurrent livestreams.

In case you're not sure what max concurrent mean, it's the ability to stream multiple livestreams within one channel or stream key.

For example, channels from big companies that does replay livestreams of people's favorite shows. They will often have 3+ livestreams running at the same time.

Although YouTube hasn't explained why they're reducing the number of max concurrent livestreams, the answer might be obvious.

Creators are streaming way too many streams at once and that's creating a lot of spam and/or it's heavy on YouTube's system.

YouTube also haven't mention what will be the limit, whether it's only five or less.

YouTube releases a new safeguard for search results to protect younger viewers.

This safety protection will prevent teens from finding search results that are age-restricted or violative.

On paper, it sounds great. However, in order for this to work, parents need to set up their Family Center and add their kids into it.

So for the parents who are concern for their kid's safety on the internet and are already using their Family Center, this is another tool for them to use.

But how parents many are actually doing this instead of letting their kids roam free on YouTube? Or not even know about any alt accounts their kids might've made?

YouTube's new experiment moves the Dislike button in Shorts.

According to YouTube, viewers were telling them that they use the dislike button and the "Not Interested" button interchangeably. This meant viewers didn't know the difference, if there is any.

So YouTube's decided to combine it together... but move it further inside their UI.

Instead of the dislike button being under the like button, you'll now have to press the 3-dot menu in order to dislike a video.

This is not the first time YouTube has done this, because they've also did the same with the option to remove a video from your watch history.

It used to take one-click on the X button to remove a video from your watch history. However, now you've got to click on the 3-dot menu and then "Remove from watch history."
