This Custom Feed Could Change How Viewers Find Your Video

Something has changed in YouTube's home page...

The first thing you might have noticed (or will notice) is the missing Subscription feed.

A question for you: Do you actually use the Subscription feed, or do you use the Home feed for all your needs?

Ever since YouTube revamped their home feed, showing you videos from channels you're subscribed too along with videos similar to the ones you're watching... there isn't a need to click on your Subscription feed.

It seems YouTube's solution is to remove that feed and just keep the Home and Shorts feed, while moving the Subscription tab closer to the top.

This isn't the only thing YouTube's doing. They're currently working on an experiment that might just change what viewers are watching on the regular. ๐Ÿ‘‡

Below is an example of what the new feature look like ๐Ÿ‘‡

If you see this, let us know by responding to this email or on our Discord server! We'd love to see how it works for you.

Now, the fact that the update says "prompt" could mean YouTube is using AI to customize your feed. If that's the case, then don't expect a single prompt to create the perfect feed. You'll have to play around with it until it's at least 90% what you want.

YouTube always had a way for you to customize your feed through the "Not interested" and "Don't recommend channel" option.

However, these are tucked away in the three dots tab and most people don't know about it.

Plus, it can be annoying to have to constantly go through this two-click process on any videos you don't want to see.

So this could just be YouTube's way to let you do that through prompts, making it easier to readjust.

Ironically, YouTube might be giving back the power of search for users, but through the use of AI search.

Note: Always give feedback to YouTube if you have access to these testing features. You can help shape the tool and make it better for everyone.

Stay creative,
Ike
