YouTube is testing out comments for subscribers and members only!
If you've been in livestreams on YouTube before, you may notice that some streamers only allow subscribers or members only to chat.
This allows the streamer to talk with their fanbase more closely, though it wouldn't stop some random person from subscribing in order to enter the chat.
Now, YouTube is bringing this feature to the comment section.
You can also determine how long a viewer needs to be subscribed before they can comment, making this a viable way of getting comments from only your fans and discouraging hate comments.
The test is currently only in Thailand, but may expand to more countries.
You can now create your own Shorts effect with Effect Maker!
Head over to https://effects.youtube.com/ to start making your own effect for YouTube Shorts!
Please note that this is only available on desktop with no particular plans to expand to the mobile app. So yes, this means you'll need to create the effect on PC in order to use it on your phone.
When you create your effect, this will be available to ALL creators. You can even showcase the effects you've created on your channel homepage!
YouTube says this is another way to be discovered by others.
Maybe you're not ready to be on camera yet, but you've got visions for or experiences with effects. This can be a good opportunity to create something for others.
