Discover YouTube's Top 5 Game-Changers

This is the BIGGEST UPDATE ever from Made in YouTube!

With about 30 new features that are releasing right now, throughout the weeks, or within in the next year, you might feel a little loopy trying to figure out which one you should look out for.

That's why we've made a top 5 list on what you should keep an eye on!

We'll also add in a few special mentions for certain features and our worries for others.

Collaborations in YouTube Studio

Creators have been collaborating with each other since the dawn of YouTube, and it's only going to get easier with Collaborations!

One of the issues when it came to collaboration was the splitting of content, analytics, and engagement. It was obvious that the bigger creator would often get the biggest bounty while the smaller creator will get what trickles down.

Still, it was a better tool to grow than a simple shoutout.

Collaborations helps by allowing you to add up to 5 collaborators to a single video, and the video will be shown to all of your audiences instead of being split.

This means there will be even more reach and discoverability for everyone in the collaboration!

Though YouTube hasn't said much about whether the collaborators would get to see the video analytics as well. They have said that revenue earned will be attributed to the original poster.

When is it coming out?

It's being rolled out gradually with the intent to be available to all creators globally within the next couple weeks.

Stream horizontally and vertically at the same time!

YouTube is now able to livestream horizontal and vertical streams simultaneously! It'll all funnel into one chat so you'll be able to interact with both.

This is a game-changer. No more plugins to stream on Shorts and horizontally. We even thought that this should've been something Twitch should've done.

That being said, if you're streaming to multiple sites, you'll still need certain apps and plugins to do so.

When is it coming out?

YouTube is experimenting with this new stream format, but they expect to expand to more creators in the coming months.

A/B Testing for Title

It's been a game changer since YouTube released A/B/C testing for FREE to all creators. Now they're adding titles into the mix!

This means you'll be able to test up to 3 titles, thumbnails, or both at the same time.

Please note that these A/B testing are still based on watch time and not Impressions Click-Through Rate (ICTR).

When is it coming out?

It is currently being tested with a small group of creators, but will be available to all creators before the end of the year.

Add in or switch brand segments with ease

When we first heard about this feature, we knew this was going to be BIG. No longer do you have to burn-in your sponsor segment. Now, you'll be able to add in the sponsorship AND swap it out once the sponsorship expires.

What this means is that old videos can still be used (as long as it's still getting impressions and views). New opportunities are opening up for both creators and sponsors.

Brands want to permanently sponsor a video or two? That's a new deal.

Got a video that's still getting engagement? That's a deal you can now make with brands.

And so many more new kinds of deals to be made in the future!

When is it coming out?

Testing will begin later this year and will launch broadly next year.

Auto timestamps and tagging for YouTube Shopping

Save time while earning more money with YouTube Shopping's AI.

The AI will auto tag the product mentioned in your videos, based on images, voiceover, and info input during upload.

Then, it'll auto timestamp the moment you show the product in the video so that viewers will get a pop-up of the product on the screen.

This is great for creators who have access to YouTube Shopping... not so much for those who aren't in the YouTube Partner Program (YPP) and have less than 10,000 subscribers.

YouTube says sub count doesn't matter (until it does).

When is it coming out?

Auto timestamp is already out and available for those in the YouTube Shopping program.

Auto tag is rolling out to eligible US creators over the next year.

Honorable mentions

Side-by-side ads for livestreams is pretty cool. Viewers will see the ad and the livestream side-by-side so they'll still be in the know (albeit they won't hear the audio from the livestream) once they get back from their ad break.

It's available now on desktop and TV, but will expand to mobile devices and more livestreams later this year.

Create video clips and Shorts from your long-form videos. YouTube AI will pull from your podcast or livestream and transform it into engaging clips or Shorts. Best of all? It's FREE!

These are actually two features, one for podcast and the other for livestream. The one for podcasters will be available in the US in the coming months and Shorts early next year. For livestreams, the Shorts highlight will be able to all mobile creators in the next few weeks.

Features we're a bit worried about

Going live on mobile alongside eligible streams is... certainly a feature. This tool gives anybody the ability to react live to your stream.

Why this worries us is because it reminds us of the video reply days. Back when YouTube had video replies, there would be an unfortunate influx of unrelated videos latching on to a popular video. React live to livestreams might cause a similar issue.

But we'll never know until we actually see it in action.

Auto-dubbing with lip sync might sound good, but it can be worrisome for those who are against AI being used in their video. Auto-dubbing is a feature YouTube's been pushing out to more creators, but now they're planning on syncing lips. What this means is that AI will look through your video and change your lips.

There's already been talks of YouTube using AI on people's Shorts without their permission. So this might stir the pot even more.
