Ask yourself this ONE Question before posting on YouTube!

Before you publish your next video, ask yourself this...

Will anyone actually care?

That one question changed how I plan every upload and it led to a simple 3-question process I now use with every creator and brand I work with.

Before I upload any video, whether it’s for my channel, a brand, or someone I’m coaching, I run it through 3 simple questions. These questions have saved me time, helped me stay consistent, and most importantly, helped my content actually resonate.

1️⃣ Who is this video actually for?

Not in a vague “this is for anyone who likes content” kind of way. I mean specifically:

  • What does this person care about?
  • What are they struggling with?
  • Why would this video matter to them today?

Creators or brands who skip this step will find their content feeling scattered. When I make videos with a real viewer in mind—even if it's just one person I’ve helped before—the video becomes way more focused and the message lands deeper.

2️⃣ Why should they care in the first 10 seconds?

This is the hook. It’s the moment where you either earn attention or lose it.

YouTube doesn’t give you much time to prove your video is worth watching. If you bury the value or waste time rambling, people will click away.

I always ask: what is the actual problem or curiosity I’m solving in the first 10 seconds?

If I can’t answer that clearly, I go back and tighten it.

3️⃣ What do I want them to feel or do next?

This is where I see so many creators fall flat. They give value but forget the follow-up. No direction. No prompt. No purpose.

It’s not always about a call to action or link. Sometimes it’s just about making someone feel something or reflect on a simple idea that keeps them coming back.

Whether it’s a playlist, a comment prompt, or a closing moment that sticks, I always try to guide the experience to the very last second.

You don’t need a checklist or complicated formula. But asking these 3 questions before you hit publish? That can completely change how your video connects and how your audience responds!
